רוב הקהל שלי הם ערבים, אני רוקדת בשבילם ואני גאה בזה…המון מוסלמים מכל רחבי עולם עוקבים אחרי באינסטגראם....רק שעכשיו במלחמה זה הרבה יותר קשה ואני מתמקדת בללמד ריקודי בטן ופחות בהופעות. סלעית מספרת כי היא באה ללמוד אופרה בניו יורק ובסוף החליטה שדווקא מתאים לה להיות רקדנית בטן. הקהל הניו יורקי שלה כולל ברובו מוסלמים, ערבים וגם פלסטינים. ״הם לא יודעים שאני ישראלית אחרת הייתי בצרות. ״במדינות ערב רקדניות בטן נתפסות כזונות אבל זו ראייה ממש לא נכונה של העניין״. I like to dance for Arabs in New York City but they don't know that I'm Israeli, with Salit Cohen, a belly dancer.Most of my audiences are Arabs- I dance for them and I'm proud of it... a lot of Muslims from all over the world follow me on Instagram.Salit Cohen says that she came to study opera in New York and in the end decided that she was suited to be a belly dancer. Her New York audience includes mostly Muslims, Arabs and Palestinians.
