Carol Simms, whose African name ‘Kofi’ means ‘Fridays Child’ was born in Lambeth, South London. Kofi’s natural love of music enhanced and after a brief flirtation with acting, her urge to make music began to dominate. 2012 saw her working with new producers, with the release of a new EP Sweetness & Thanks and a number of singles in various genres. Midway through the year Kofi became joint owner/partner in her management and record label company. The first release under the partnership is the 6-track EP The G Mixes which features tracks from both Kofi and label artiste IJ Chris. An Unlikely Beginning took 1st place romance category in the Texas Association of Authors contest. Creator of the Velvet Shoe Collection of romantic mysteries, she enjoys writing novels with twists and turns, taking the reader on a journey of the unexpected. The series includes An Unlikely Arrangement, An Unlikely Beginning and the newest in the series, released in August of this year, An Unlikely Conclusion. Patty is also a speaker and gives workshops on empowering women of any age or circumstance in life.
