×In today's Daily Fix:Sony has canceled a couple more games, both of which were live service titles. One of them was a God of War multiplayer game, and the other was an unannounced game from Bluepoint. Looks like Sony could be scaling back their live service push in the wake of the colossal failure of Concord. In other news, the devs behind Hollow Knight: Silksong potentially teased...something. A cryptic tweet involving a dessert profile picture have lead some to believe a Silksong announcement is coming with Nintendo's big Switch 2 Direct in April. And finally there's a new Steam Deck, only you can't buy it and it would probably be bad to play games on. To celebrate Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Steam Deck verification, Square Enix showed off a chocobo-themed Steam Deck complete with chocobo fur. Not the best way to play a handheld that can get very without the extra sweater.…
In today's Daily Fix:It's finally here, the announcement we've all been waiting for: the Nintendo Switch 2 is real...and that's about all we know for sure. A trailer for the new console didn't have anything in the way of specs, price, or release date, but did confirm a few things: the Joy-Con will be magnetic and can be used like a mouse, it will have two USB-C ports, and Switch 1 cartridges will fit in the system. Want to try it for yourself? We have details on a preview event Nintendo will hold later this year in select cities. In related news, the new Switch 2 trailer did show off what looks like a new Mario Kart, and we have a few details on that. And finally, a popular mod to bring GTA 4-era Liberty City into the modern age has been taken down. Maybe this means an official remaster (or maybe remake?) of GTA 4 could be in the works.…
In today's Daily Fix:January is already half over, but Sony is still adding games to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue. New additions include God of War: Ragnarök, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand, and more. Retro titles Medieval 2 and Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (hopefully this can hold PS5 players over until the excellent The Great Circle arrives). In other news, Microsoft has been hit with even more layoffs across several divisions including gaming. The number of affected staff is currently unknown. And finally, the last content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out, adding new weapons and cosmetics and a true ending to the game. And just like most of the story, the ending is proving to already be controversial.…
In today's Daily Fix:Details of the unannounced The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake may have been accidentally revealed. A former employee at game studio Virtuos allegedly revealed its existence, which seems to confirm an earlier leak that happened during the FTC v Microsoft trial. The game will be made using Unreal Engine 5, and will feature changes to some of the combat, especially blocking. In related news, 'Nate the Hate,' the Youtuber who recently reported on the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date, is also claiming that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 this year. It's looking like a strong third-party lineup for the Switch 2's launch, with the system reportedly also getting Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Assassin's Creed Mirage. And finally, Marvel Rivals players may have found more evidence that the game is using bots.…
In today's Daily Fix:In yet another Nintendo Switch 2 leak, Youtuber 'Nate the Hate' claims that Nintendo will reveal the new hybrid console this week, January 16th to be precise. A software-focused reveal will come a month or two after that, and Assassin's Creed: Mirage and Final Fantasy 7 Remake will lead the way (reportedly). As for first-party games, a new Mario Kart will also be a launch window title, and the next 3D Mario game will come this holiday season. In related news, accessory maker Genki claims that Nintendo sent lawyers to their CES booth after their Switch 2 mock-up went viral. And finally, a new trailer for Season 2 of Castlevania: Nocturne just dropped.…
In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo is finally responding to all the recent leaks of the Nintendo Switch 2. This was likely brought on by the recent reveal of a mock-up of the Switch 2 at CES in Las Vegas by the accessory company, Genki. According to Nintendo, any leak is unofficial and not from reliable sources, but with so many details that seem to corroborate one another, we can't help but think that maybe—MAYBE—there's some truth to at least a few of these leaks. But only Nintendo can verify anything, and they've already said an announcement will be coming sometime this year. In other news, Marvel Rivals just got an update that not only added the Fantastic Four, but took away mod support. PC players will no longer be able to make Spider-Man look like Goku or use any other unapproved visual changes.…
In today's Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Shadows has been hit with another setback. Ubisoft has announced a new release date of March 20, 2025, roughly a month later than the previous release date of February 14, which itself was delayed from the original release date of November 12, 2024. Ubisoft explained that this was to give the game more time for polish and to implement feedback from the past three months. In other news, Nintendo has announced a new handheld: a LEGO Gameboy. Sorry, it's not the Switch 2 announcement you were looking for, but could be a cool item for collectors.Presented by Goosebumps: The Vanishing - Streaming tomorrow on Disney+ & on Hulu until 4/9/25!…
In today's Daily Fix:Accessories maker Genki showed off upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 accessories at this year's CES. But it wasn't the accessories that have the internet buzzing—Genki has a mock-up of the Switch 2 that, according to them, is based on the real dimensions of the not-yet-announced console. This is just the latest in a deluge of recent leaks surrounding the Switch 2, so hopefully Nintendo makes an official announcement soon. In other news, Game Pass games for January have been announced, with fighting games, cozy farm games, and demon-slaying games in the line-up.Presented by Goosebumps: The Vanishing - Streaming this Friday on Disney+ & on Hulu until 4/9/25!…
In today's Daily Fix:PC gamers, the day has come! Nvidia has finally announced the next generation of RTX graphics cards, starting with the flagship RTX 5090, which will retail for a whopping $1,999. The cheapest card announced so far is the RTX 5070 for $549, and is reportedly similar in performance to last gen's flagship RTX 4090. Other cards debuting this week at CES are the RTX 5080 for $999 and the RTX 5070 Ti for $749. In other news, Sony has revealed a slate of movie and anime projects based on their hit games. Horizon Zero Dawn and Helldivers 2 will be getting the big-screen live-action treatment, and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will come to Crunchyroll as an anime. Legends is the multiplayer component of Ghost of Tsushima that had its own self-contained story. No updates yet on the live-action adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima coming from John Wick director Chad Stahelski.Presented by Goosebumps: The Vanishing - Streaming this Friday on Disney+ & on Hulu until 4/9/25!…
In today's Daily Fix:The latest Nintendo Switch 2 leak making the rounds on the internet has given gamers the best look yet of the purported new Joy-Con. In new leaked images, the the Joy-Con appear to feature a sensor that looks a lot like the optical sensors found on computer mice, suggesting that when turned on their side, the Joy-Con could be used like a mouse. The Switch 2 is not yet officially announced, although Nintendo has acknowledged they're working on the follow-up to the massively succesful Switch. In other news, Minecraft creator Notch has announced he wants to make a follow-up to the popular building/crafting sim. The problem is, he sold it all to Microsoft years ago, but he's willing to work something out if Microsoft is open to it.Presented by Goosebumps: The Vanishing - Streaming this Friday on DisneyPlus & on Hulu until 4/9/25!…
In today's Daily Fix:News of a new Nintendo patent has fueled more speculation about the upcoming—but not officially announced—Switch 2. The patent suggests the Switch 2 will use some kind of AI-powered image upscaling (probably similar to NVIDIA DLSS), which falls in line with leaks about the system's specs. The Switch 2 supposedly will output games at 4K in docked mode, and upscaling the images from a lower resolution to 4K will help save on system horsepower. In other news, Call of Duty players are finally learning what their SBMM rank is, thanks to a workaround involving requesting personal data from Activision. But the question now is, what will you do once you learn what your SBMM ranking is? And finally, Atari has re-revealed a handheld that will likely play retro Atari games. Grandpas of the world, rejoice.…
In today's Daily Fix:While gamers around the world (im)patiently wait for Rockstar to drop another GTA 6 trailer on us, analysts are already predicting a massive payday for Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two. Grand Theft Auto 6 could rake in billions in just its first year on sale, with some analysts predicting $3 billion, outpacing GTA 5's sales. If you can't wait to drop $70 on GTA 6, maybe these (sort of) free PS Plus games can hold you over. January's offerings include The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. And finally, Kanye West has revealed his recent gaming habits, and they include Naughty Dog's award-winning The Last of Us Part 2. Props to Ye for also playing the game on Survivor +.…
In today's Daily Fix:It's our year-end wrap-up where we count down the most-clicked on headlines from IGN. One game in particular dominated the news—a certain survival/crafting/monster-capturing game that was the subject of a major lawsuit. Baldur's Gate 3, a game from 2023, was continuing to make waves in the form of comprehensive updates. Props to the developers at Larian for supporting an already amazing game. And Hideo Kojima found himself in the spotlight for teasing his next project, a mysterious espionage title by the name of Physint.…
In today's Daily Fix:Jesse Eisenberg believes his career has suffered since starring in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film introduced Eisenberg as the Snyderverse's Lex Luthor, but was met with tepid reviews. The follow-up, Justice League, fared even worse, and Eisenberg wasn't even aware of the negative response. But despite his claims, Eisenberg's career has continued, and his writing/directing/starring effort, A Real Pain, is getting some real Oscar buzz. In other news, Assassin's Creed Shadows features what the devs are calling the series' fastest assassin yet. In fact, Naoe may have a specific running animation when on rooftops, which is prompting speculation that the "Naruto run" could be featured in the game. And in other Ubisoft news, a new game was stealth-dropped, this one featuring Rayman. But don't get your hopes up—it features NFTs.…
In today's Daily Fix:Fans were pretty excited this week when Helldivers 2 announced a crossover event with dormant Sony IP Killzone. Unfortunately the good vibes didn't last when players saw how much the Killzone items would cost in in-game currency. But developer Arrowhead has heard the feedback, and will be giving the first batch of Killzone items away for free. In other Sony news, the company is now officially the largest shareholder in FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa. No takeover is expected, but Sony does now own 10% of company shares. And finally, Sonic 3 isn't even out in theaters, but we now know Paramount and Sega are teaming up for a fourth film, scheduled for 2027.…
