Trish interviews Medford Fire Chief Eric Thompson, and Battalion Chief Jason John about the deadly Almeda Fire on September 8th. The Medford Fire Department called back crews on that day and every firefighter working was assigned to help protect people and property. The two talk about the difficult decisions they made about leaving burning buildings behind, and sometimes the desperate calls to get their crews out of harm's way. They talk about what they remember that day, the images of the residents evacuating, the faces of the men fighting this fire, and the moment they felt they were finally gaining ground.
