Main Point: Embrace the good news of the birth of your Savior, and live in the great joy He has provided!

I. An Ordinary Audience – 2:8.

II. An Extraordinary Announcement – 2:9-12.

Micah 5:2, Genesis 3:15, Psalm 2:7-9, Isaiah 42:1,4, Isaiah 9:2

Alfred Plummer (defines joy as) “that serene happiness, which is the result of conscious union with God …, of conscious possession of eternal life…and which raises us above pain and sorrow and remorse.”

III. An Angelic Adoration – 2:13-14.

2) Embrace great joy by speaking the gospel!

3) Embrace great joy by applying the gospel!
