Speaking of cocktails, today Matthew is drinking a Boukman Daiquiri while Ben is drinking mull spiced port. Recipes below.
Boukman Daiquiri
- 1 1/2 oz White Rum
- 1/2 oz Cognac
- 3/4 oz Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz Cinnamon Syrup
- Cinnamon Stick for garnish
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Spiced Port Wine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup mulling spices
- 1 quart water
- 1 750ml bottle of ruby port
- Combine sugar, water and mulling spices in a pot and bring to a simmer. Simmer for an hour. Lower temperature to low and add ruby port. Filter out spices and serve individually in mugs. (Spike with a shot of vodka to make this an actual cocktail.)
