What is the change we seek to make? How did you choose the questions for The Strategy Deck? How big is our circle of us? How many people do I care about? Is the change we're making contagious? Are there other ways to gamify the use of questions? Any other thoughts on how questions might be gamified? What would Bob do? What would Jill do? What would Susan do? What happened to them? What system are they in that made them decide that that was the right thing to do? And then how do we change the system? How given the state of the world, do you manage to continue to care as much as you do? Do you walk to school or take your lunch? If you all can only care if things are going well, then what does that mean about caring? Should I have spent the last 50 years curled up in a ball? How do we go to the foundation and create community action?…

In today’s episode, I talk about the controversial Stoic motto “expect nothing and accept everything”. For centuries this motto has raised brows, discussions and arguments, so today I’ll be telling you what I understand, what I’ve taken from it and how I practice it. now note this isn’t me asking you to drop all your expectations and become a modern-day droid and neither is this me asking you to adhere to this motto, it’s me simply me talking to you about what I’ve learnt and as with everything I talk about in this podcast take what feels right and leave what doesn’t. The World went from not encouraging self-care to making it a trend so now everyone’s into self-care, normally this would be a good thing, but in a world where trending and going viral is the end game of the day, self-care has become an aesthetic, a gimmick to pass as woke, introspective or simply to go viral, In today’s episodes Ovü takes a deep dive into self-care and gives you 8 things you should know about self-care to have an easier time with loving yourself. In this episode, I read a letter to my listeners containing things I’ve learnt about life from growing up. (transcript) A letter to Whoever’s listening Dear listener, How are you doing? I hope you're good, I'm writing this letting to let you know, I’m thankful for time and growth, yes this surprises me too cause they were times when the pain was too much for me, times I was too numb to feel but I’m grateful, now this isn’t me saying that I’ve mastered the art of growing older, you never do, you just learn to live rather be alive, you learn things happen for a reason, that every situation’s meant to teach a lesson as long as you’re willing to learn, you learn relationships expire and people leave to make room for other people, you learn the saying “if it’s truly yours it’ll come back” is true but you also learn that you get to decide if you want that back in your life, you learn to take things easy and remain present, you learn everyone’s struggling or going through something cause life doesn’t revolve around you, you’ll learn to know your value and your place in people’s lives, you’ll learn to walk away when situations no longer benefit you, you learn to be at ease with time, you learn to take moments to breathe in deep, you learn to look at the sky, the sun, the moon and the stars again like you once did as a child, you learn to be thankful for everything and be excited about everything like you were as a child, and eventually, you’ll begin to find your younger self again, you’ll forgive your younger self for leaving and they'd forgive you for forgetting them and at this point, you’d have to relearn yourself. you’d learn to accept the mistakes you made and you'll begin to see them as lessons and eventually, your memories won’t hurt you anymore, anxiety will kick your ass but eventually, you’ll understand that your anxiety is only a result of your imagination not the reality of the future because you never know what will happen, though the uncertainty of the future may push you into apathy don’t worry you’ll find your place in the present and through all of these cycles, depression might kick your ass and half the people in your life wouldn’t exist anymore but that's life. you’ll also most likely lose your mind over things you can’t control but in all honesty that’s just life, it’s a cycle of growth, learning, endless trials and tribulations simply because life teaches us to be better for ourselves and others and in all honesty, nothing is worse than a stagnant thing because stagnancy equals death, in the words of modern day philosopher kehlani Ashley parish “what is not growing is dead if you Can't understand get the fuck out my face” I added the last part cause people will get tired of your ass if you don’t grow up and dump your childish behaviours cause ain’t nobody gat time for that, besides all this growth is to teach you to create your happiness, to value your time and energy, to do what you love and to be at peace with yourself because that’s all that matters and eventually you’ll realize you just have to keep going not for anyone else but yourself now I’m not tryna be a motivational speaker, I’m just telling you the truth everyone might fail you, the reality is we’re the only ones that can save ourselves because we have to do this shit for ourselves, so fall, learn and pick up yourselves and get back on your grind and shit because that's what growing up is about. If you ever need anything feel free to hit me up because that's what I'm here for, to lend a helping hand Yours sincerely, Forthepainsofgrowing…
