Oddity tells the eerie story of Darcy, a blind medium and curio shopkeeper, who is grieving the brutal murder of her twin sister Dani. Darcy inherits a set of haunted objects from her family’s shop, including a life-sized wooden mannequin. This strange artifact becomes central to Darcy’s quest to uncover the truth about her sister’s death. The film is set in the isolated Irish countryside, creating an atmosphere of dread as Darcy's blind pursuit leads to a shocking confrontation.

Director Damian McCarthy is known for his debut horror film *Caveat* (2020), and Oddity follows in a similar vein, using minimal locations and tension-driven storytelling. The haunted mannequin central to the film was custom-designed by effects artist Paul McDonnell. McCarthy drew inspiration from films like Child's Play and Creepshow, giving the mannequin a more menacing presence by making it life-sized. Oddity debuted at the 2024 South by Southwest Festival, where it won the Audience Award, further establishing McCarthy as a unique voice in the horror genre.
