It is generally accepted that by 2035 Africa will have the largest workforce in the world. To support the development of that workforce, the continent is experiencing a wave of privatization, especially in its Higher Education industry. The number of private universities in Africa has grown from 35 in 1969 to 972 in 2015.
In EDfricast’s 3rd episode, we speak to special guest Brandon Kirby, Director of Marketing, Sales and Admissions at the Rotterdam School of Management. Brandon is vastly experienced, having occupied a variety of roles across multiple sectors, including the Hospitality, Advertising, and Sports Industries.
Brandon enjoys meeting with candidates around the world about their MBA journey. He is a frequent speaker/moderator at various conferences, seminars, and events speaking on topics of Leadership, Entrepreneurial, and Marketing. A graduate of the OneMBA program at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Kenan Flagler Business School, he intimately understands the challenges and rewards of pursuing an MBA degree.
Brandon shares with us his thoughts on the privatization of the Higher Education industry in general, given the highly privatized nature of the Graduate management education niche across the globe. Leveraging his experience in Marketing, Sales, and Admissions, he discusses the importance of brand building in a highly homogenous marketplace and shares with us his view on the purpose of Higher Education.
