And with a potential TikTok ban looming, we have to remember that these platforms are ultimately out of our control. Even if TikTok doesn’t end up going away, you never know what kind of algorithm changes might affect your reach. In this clip, I urge online entrepreneurs to find a way to transfer their audiences over to an independent platform - like an email list – and I walk some of the younger folks through a bit of a history lesson of how the internet economy has changed over the last 25 years.
