This week, in what might be the funniest episode yet, Molly and Emese are joined by co-stars Amy Schumer and Brianne Howey. They get candid about motherhood, career evolution, and their new film, Kinda Pregnant —which unexpectedly led to Amy’s latest health discovery. Amy opens up about how public criticism led her to uncover her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, what it’s like to navigate comedy and Hollywood as a mom, and the importance of sharing birth stories without shame. Brianne shares how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on work, how Ginny & Georgia ’s Georgia Miller compares to real-life parenting, and the power of female friendships in the industry. We also go behind the scenes of their new Netflix film, Kinda Pregnant —how Molly first got the script, why Amy and Brianne were drawn to the project, and what it means for women today. Plus, they reflect on their early career struggles, the moment they knew they “made it,” and how motherhood has reshaped their ambitions. From career highs to personal challenges, this episode is raw, funny, and packed with insights. Gravitational waves, planets, Venus, magic, and a continuation of our discussion on J.K. Rowling as we go through the first book of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone . Venmo us at OrionQueer to leave a tip. Make sure you leave an egg emoji!
Orion and Em continue their dive into J.K. Rowling's transphobia, with an overview of the main characters of the Harry Potter series and what they tell us about how J.K. Rowling might view gender.
Is Harry Potter a trans narrative? Is Harry J.K. Rowling? What does her transphobia tell us about gender trauma, and why is it important to talk about? In our first episode, we begin part 1 of a multi-part series looking at the Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling. We're looking at J.K. Rowling's relationship to transphobia through the lens of shadow work. Could it be possible that her intense beliefs about trans people are coming from a deep-seeded fear of her own trans parts? In this series, we will use Harry Potter as a way for us to explore our own internalized transphobia, pre-egg-cracking. How many of us felt resentful of other trans people who were able to live their lives as their true selves before we were also able to crack our egg and come out of the closet?
