Em 2008, a Lei nº 11.645 alterou a 10.639, de 2003, que por sua vez, já era uma alteração da Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional. Em suma, isso significa que passaram a incluir no currículo oficial da rede de ensino a obrigatoriedade da temática História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Indígena “Nos estabelecimentos de ensino fundamental e de ensino médio, púbicos e privados”.

Desde então, já se passaram mais de dez anos, e o que deveria ser um ponto de virada no entendimento sobre esses povos todos ainda é algo muito incipiente.

Mas por que é tão difícil uma educação realmente transformadora? Para discutir uma resposta a essa pergunta e muito mais, conversamos com Géssica Nunes.
