Green Deputy Leader Insists Shannon Airport Rail Link Achievable By 2030

The new Deputy Leader of the Green Party believes the Shannon Airport Rail Link will be up and running by the end of the decade. It comes as cabinet has granted approval for the All-Island Strategic Rail Review which proposes a €30b investment in Ireland's rail infrastructure, including a spur connecting Shannon to Limerick City. The proposals also include the construction of the Limerick to Foynes railway that would bring new passenger services to Shannon. Inagh Green Party Senator Roisín Garvey says there's no reason for the line not to be operational within the next five years.
