For Carolyn Talks..., I spoke with director Tsuruoka Keiko about her film TSUGARU LACQUE GIRL starring Hotta Mayu as Miyako, a young woman who doesn't let her shyness and the doubts of others deter her from achieving her dream to be a professional Tsugaru-nuri lacquer artisan.

#TsugaruLacquerGirl also stars Kaoru Kobayashi, Ryota Bando, Toshiya Miyata, Reiko Kataoka, and is based on the novel “Japan Dignity” by #TakamoriMiyuki.
