In 1990 she founded The Shelton Group, the oldest PR & marketing firm working exclusively in the dietary supplements and natural products industry. With deep expertise in this specialized sector, her approach goes far beyond traditional PR & marketing tactics, incorporating regulatory concerns, market sensibilities, best practices, and industry issues. She is currently AHPA Communications Committee Chair, and handles trade PR for Women in Nutraceuticals (WIN), the non-profit group advocating for gender parity. Awards include a Lifetime Achievement award from UNPA in 2025, the NutraIngredients-USA NutraChampion in 2020, AHPA Hero award in 2017, 2004 NBJ award for Efforts on behalf on the Industry, and the 2006 NNFA (now NPA) Crusader award. Suzanne came to the natural product industry after her first career in the music business. She still does vinyl DJ sets in Chicago, her specialty being vintage punk rock and 80's new wave music.
