Some people get the impression that being saved by faith means there is no motivation for conduct and works. They think that if a person is saved by grace it must mean he just sits around and twiddles his thumbs. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Paul said That I may know him”— at the end of his life Paul, still had the ambition to know Christ. Today some saints give me the impression that they have complete knowledge and they only need to polish their halo every morning, and are ready to run for the Lord at any moment. Yet Paul, the greatest missionary the world has ever seen, said at the end of his life, “My ambition is still to know Christ—His person and the power of His resurrection.”

The key to the Christian life is not you living it, but Jesus living it through you. That’s what makes Christianity unique. Christianity is not merely a religion; it is driven by a relationship with the raised savior.

The greatest comfort in my life is the reality of Christ. I need the reality of Christ in my life I need to know him— I need to know him in every area of my life, when you are going through a rough time, remember that Jesus Christ invites you to get to know him better.

If you will set before yourself each week this goal, to know Christ and be like Him, you will see opportunities all over the place to apply it. You will have temptations where you need to rely on the power of His resurrection. You will face trials where you come to know the fellowship of His sufferings. You will encounter irritations where you must learn to be more conformed to His death. View it all as an opportunity to know Christ and to remind you that it is preparing you for that great day when He comes and you will be raised in glory with Him for all eternity.

Listen when you met your future mate, you fell in love and got married, your life was forever changed. You would never be the same again. It is the same, only much more so, when you meet Jesus as Savior and Lord. He m
