With policy changes recently announced and more on the horizon, many businesses are looking to lock in the best incentives before the rules shift under the new administration. Michael explained how securing solar tax credits for commercial properties differs from residential projects, with a longer runway to qualify and strict deadlines depending on when you start the process. At a high level, federal solar tax credits remain available for projects placed in service before the end of 2027, starting at 30% of the project cost and potentially rising to 50–60% with certain bonus opportunities.
