Cliff, who’s a veteran events promoter and DJ, opened up Fat Buddha in the East Village nearly a decade ago. The establishment has since become a nightlife staple for New Yorkers seeking classic hip-hop. It’s also a hub for the Asian-American artist community with notable regulars including Dumbfoundead, Awkwafina, and of course, me.

Unfortunately, like all restaurants facing the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Cliff’s businesses—Fat Buddha and OMOMO—have both halted operations.
