The objectives of the presentation include:
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to compare and contrast oral and injectable forms of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention, identifying their respective safety profiles, efficacy, and potential advantages or limitations.
Following the presentation, participants will be able to discuss the importance of medication adherence in PrEP effectiveness, and develop strategies to promote and support adherence among patients.
At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to describe the guidelines for prescribing PrEP, including assessing sexually active patients, conducting baseline laboratory testing, and implementing ongoing assessments to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to identify different methods of covering the cost of PrEP, including insurance coverage and pharmaceutical patient assistance programs, and provide guidance to patients on accessing financial resources to support PrEP utilization.
