God is our shield and our protector, he cares for us and watches over us, and will deliver us! But as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego declared, sometimes that deliverance doesn't look the way we want...so what do we do when God's protection doesn't feel very protective?โดย Dustin Strauss

In ancient days people saw their gods as local and limited, but the God of Israel revealed to them that he was always with them, wherever they were, and whatever they were going through. A disciple is one who knows that God is always with us!โดย Scott Koreman

Walking with God fills our lives with all kinds of wonderful blessings and gifts, and he calls us to be a part of the work he is doing in amazing and important ways. But a disciple understands that while God calls us and cares for us, we are not the point, he is!โดย Dustin Strauss

A disciple knows who it is that we are worshipping, and responds to the lavish promises and provision of God with lavish generosity and freedom!โดย Dustin Strauss

God's mind and ways are far beyond what we can know or understand, but at the same time he is not unknowable. As disciples he means for us to know him and walk with him, and he has given us his law and his word that we can know his heart and his mind and how he means us to live!โดย Scott Koreman

A disciple is one who knows the provision of God, but the provision of God is not everything we want all the time so that we never have to rely on him again. God provides enough that we can walk with him one day at a time.โดย Dustin Strauss

Following God can be scary and even dangerous, but a disciple is a person who knows the power of God, and knows that he can protect and provide no matter what he calls us into.โดย Dustin Strauss

Paul tells us that the first piece of the armour that God has given to us is the Belt of Truth. But what is that truth? How do we define it? And what does it mean for us as we seek to walk with God?โดย Dustin Strauss

As we have our Annual General Meeting this week, we hear the words of Peter calling forward to us and the things he sees facing the church.โดย Dustin Strauss

We must know the word so that we can discern good and faithful teaching. We must stand firmly on the truth of Jesus!โดย Scott Koreman

The Apostle Peter knew his life was coming to an end, and he wrote a letter to the church telling us these final things. Let us hear and obey the words that the Spirit has given us through him.โดย Dustin Strauss

When God brings his word to life within us, we are transformed - our appetites, our behaviours, our purpose are all made new as we live in submission to his will and his ways!โดย Dustin Strauss

The Word Alive in Us should lead us to surrender and trust, knowing our heavenly Father is in control!โดย Scott Koreman

Jesus has taught us how to live, how to worship, how to follow, but he also told us about the end. Our lives and this world will not go on forever - God will bring a conclusion to all things according to his will and for his glory. How does that change the way we should live?โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus is calling us to follow him, but we have to set down everything we are and everything we have if we do. The Rich Young Ruler couldn't do it. Can we?โดย Dustin Strauss

The call of Jesus isn't to deny the world, it's to deny ourselves. We don't want to follow the patterns of the world, but Jesus is inviting us to see that the problem isn't all around us, it's in us too.โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus taught us what our mission looks like, what he has called us to do, and he is inviting us to follow him as he brings his Kingdom here to the world!โดย Scott Koreman

Jesus told us how to live, how to worship, and he finished his sermon on the mount with how to follow. He has grand promises and serious warnings for us on this journey, but he promises he will walk with us all the way through it!โดย Dustin Strauss

So much of our efforts to worship wind up focused on ourselves and what other people think, but Jesus is calling us to look up and see our Father!โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus calls us to do something harder than anything else - love our enemies. The people who are hurting us, the people who make our lives miserable, the people who hurt the people we love. How can we do that? We need Jesus!โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus has taught us how to live, and what life in his kingdom is supposed to look like. We are called to something far deeper than just acting nice!โดย Scott Koreman

If we are living in the kingdom, that kingdom should be shining through us and bringing light and salt to the people around us!โดย Dustin Strauss

What did Jesus tell us about his kingdom? What did he tell us about life and worship and relationship? Join us as we begin our study of the things Jesus said to us, and what he means for us to do about it!โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and he has power over death and all of creation. We have nothing to fear if we believe in him!โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus doesn't point toward the way, he doesn't tell us about the truth, and he doesn't describe life. He IS these things, and he is inviting us to know them in him.โดย Dustin Strauss

Jesus is the light of the world, driving out darkness and helping us to see!โดย Dustin Strauss

The Word was made flesh, and he told us that he is the very thing that sustains and feeds us. He is the bread of life, and is everything we need to live!โดย Scott Koreman

Jesus is the Gate and the Good Shepherd. He is the way and he is the guide, and he came to lead us home!โดย Dustin Strauss

As we explore the word this year, we come to the season of advent and confront the reality that the word is not a book but a person, and that person has told us what he is. Jesus is the Word made Flesh, and he has come to reveal his Father to us!โดย Dustin Strauss
