170: Dave Boyd - What does a former cop know about resilience and healing?

Dave is a husband, father, men's coach, CrossFit coach, former SWAT officer, and US Marine Veteran. He is currently President of Man UNcivilized, coaching men alongside founder Traver Boehm. In 2014, Raleigh, North Carolina, police officer Dave Boyd was attacked while trying to stop a domestic disturbance. He was nearly stabbed, and his attacker, Cory, nearly shot. Thankfully, they were both able to walk away, and a year later, the two ran into each other and reconciled. Dave's powerful post and photo about the experience of forgiveness and celebration of Coby turning his life around went viral, with over 180000 likes. The post is copied below:

"Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head, and I nearly shot him. Today we ran into each other again, and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation, he now has a full-time job. I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends. No one is ever lost forever. Things will work out eventually."
