MOVE FORWARD | PRAYER & ENCOURAGEMENT

As we move into a new week the words that are on my heart for you are: MOVE FORWARD. This phrase is not to provoke anxiety or to make you think you need to DO more with your life. As I was praying, the way I understood this phrase is to walk with God.

God is always moving forward. Where He walks there is always growth, multiplication, renewal, and resurrection. He is always moving forward but so often, like Adam and Eve did in the garden, we hide from God. Why do we do this?

1. Fear- We fear that we will not be good enough. We fear our past disqualifies us. We fear that if we mess up God will stop loving us. Romans 8: 35- 37 says, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.So boldly walk with God today, because He has promised to love you through it all! No fear needed.
2. Control- This actually goes in line with fear, but we think that we have the best plan for our lives. Often times we hide from God because we want our plan more than we want His. Isaiah 55: 8-9 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
   “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” So, it is time to let go of our low plans and trust God’s higher thoughts and greater plans!

Today, let us lay down fear and control and instead let us hold the hand of God and MOVE FORWARD with Him. We may not know exactly where He is leading, but we can trust that He will always lead us forward.
