S2 Ep212: Diversity in Yachting: Eddie Gill IV and @journey4acause

Eddie Gill IV is a 3rd year Environmental Science student and collegiate basketball player in Indiana. He is a lifelong fisherman, adventurer and outdoor enthusiast.
Eddie aims to bring awareness and diversity to the boating community through his Journey for a Cause project. He will be boating down the Ohio River, down the Tennessee-Tombigwee waterway, and then down to the Gulf of Mexico in order to promote and educate others. He is currently working towards getting his Captains license as well as gaining sponsorship for his project. Eddie recently partnered with PARKER BOATS and believes that through representation in advertising and marketing with large outdoor brands, some of the stigmas and stereotypes within the boating industry can be broken down and changed. Eddie wants to challenge the stereotypes and raise awareness on this issue, promoting the notion that 'the color of your skin has no bearing on what you love to do." Eddie hopes to break down barriers and make an impact on both young and old, black and white, rich and poor.
All the remaining proceeds from Journey for a Cause will be donated to non-profits working to promote equality and justice for all.
