This week’s history making woman is the daughter of a refugee has traveled from her birthplace of Peace River, Alberta to the world political stage where she tangled with former United States President Donald Trump in negotiating a new North American trade deal. Now the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada this accomplished political leader was once reluctant to run for office.

She graduated from Loyalist College's Broadcast Journalism program and was first heard on the air at the college radio station, 91x, which airs episodes of "Women Making History". Jennifer lives in Belleville, ON Canada with her husband, various grown children who sometimes return to the nest, and their crew of lovable dogs and cats.
