Ever been asked, “What’s your expected salary?” Think you know what you’re worth? Even if you did, would you share that with some silly, inexperienced recruiter who’s trying to make sure you fit into some corporate box? Here is a capital “T” truth. I don’t want you to dodge this question because I said so. I want you to avoid this like the next pandemic. Why? Because, at this moment in the hiring process, neither you nor that recruiter know the most important factor—what that company is willing to offer to hire YOU at this very moment based on their specific circumstances and potential contributions.
