In today's passage, John demonstrates the most elegant contrasts that give us clarity about who Christ is. He is the one who pursues believers, but purposefully abandons the wicked. He is the one who reveals Himself and gives wisdom to those who are His, yet leaves the wicked in their error. And He is the one who will bring His people safe to shore, home to be with God for eternity, while leaving the wicked to their self-imposed disaster.
