Our betting preview of the Brazilian Serie A starts with two sides at either end of the table, as leaders Palmeiras play city rivals and fellow heavyweights Sao Paulo. Palmeiras top the Brazilian table with a run of 9 consecutive victories and four games without conceding.

Internacional will have to bounce back against Cuiaba following their shock Copa Libertadores penalty elimination at the hands of Paraguayan side Olimpia. Inter are 14th in the table with their opponents just one place below them. Gremio have disappointed from the outset this season and are down in 19th in the table. This weekend they take on Bragantino, who are 4th, but have failed to win in the league for 4 games (drawing three, losing the other).

Atletico Mineiro will be hoping to continue their hot streak when they play Atletico Paranaense. Atletico are 2nd in the standings after racking up six league wins in a row. There's a Clasico basically every week in Brazil due to the number of elite teams all based around Rio and Sao Paulo. This time it’s Corinthians against Flamengo. The visitors will be on high after thrashing Sao Paulo and recording five consecutive victories in all comps.

Bahia’s odds look far too low against Sport Recife following their inconsistent and poor form recently. Elsewhere, Santos are desperate to get back to winning ways after 3 winless games in a row. They're down in 12th but have now qualified for the Copa Sudamericana after a draw against Argentina’s Independiente.

Atletico Goianiense and America Mineiro go head-to-head in the penultimate game of our Matchday 14 preview, and we end on another tight encounter. Ceara, 7th in the table, take on Fortaleza, the surprise hot-starters in this year’s competition, who are up in 3rd following their four-straight league wins without conceding a goal.
