In 2022, Marketing Monday is focusing on how to turn your audience into a community. This week Samantha Gasson at the Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) and Brittany Sweeney at The Livestock Conservancy are chatting with Andrew Perkins of Bluestem Creative (https://bluestemcreativeco.com/) about what makes a successful website.
Andrew's expertise includes content creation, digital marketing, e-commerce development, web development, and event production. Since 2010, he has served as Director of the Mother Earth News Fairs, a national event series that takes place around the country (and, in 2020, virtually online) for folks interested in farming, organic gardening, food independence, and off-grid living. This multi-million dollar event series has attracted more than 100,000 attendees and more than 10,000 participating businesses. During his professional career, Andrew has also worked as an editor, advertising sales executive, merchandise manager, e-commerce developer, project manager, and event director, and holds a Strategic Communications degree from the University of Kansas.
Co-host Samantha Gasson joined the FACT team in 2019 as coordinator of the Mentorship Program and as part of the Humane Farming program in 2021. She also owns and operates Bull City Farm with her husband and kids in the piedmont of North Carolina, where they raise pork, dairy cows, turkeys, layers, lamb and a geriatric emu named George. The farm is part of A Greener World’s Animal Welfare Approved program, which is the cornerstone of their farming business. In addition to raising food for her community, Samantha is committed to education, especially when it comes to farming. The farm holds summer camps for kids yearly and adult classes on cheese and sausage making. Samantha also holds a BS in Biology from Virginia Tech University.
