Special Guest Judy Barnet, Director of Rare Breeds Trust of Australia (https://rarebreedstrust.com.au/), joins Charlene Couch and Brittany Sweeney to chat about the work to save rare breeds in Australia. Judy has been with the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia since 2015 as a director and treasurer. She also looks after the memberships and organizes the RBTA annual fundraising auction for the Future Farms Fund (Gene bank). When she has time, Judy also takes her own rare breed animals to shows to promote RBTA and rare breeds. Judy and her partner have a small 150 acre farm in South East Queensland, 4 hours from Brisbane, where she mainly breeds sheep, in addition to a few Shorthorn cattle, goats pigs and poultry. She also has a lovely cottage Airbnb for farm stays called Glenlyon Dam Holiday Cottage. The cottage and our farm are situated on the banks of Glenlyon Dam so are great for water sports and fishing.
