In today's episode, Orlando and Julian talk about, "Toxic Masculinity," and how it has been brought to center-stage in recent years. They discuss how growing up Hispanic played a major role in how masculinity was viewed, traditionally, and how women were subjugated and made to be inferior. "Men are hunters and women are gatherers," is a very antiquated way to look at gender roles in society but it seems like, even today, there are still many men out there who still subscribe to this way of thinking.

In this episode, Orlando and Julian also discuss how this behavior and mindset of men always having to be strong, actually, weakens them and can potentially stunt their mental and emotional development. Examples of this way of thought are also discussed such as actor Terry Crews coming out against toxic masculinity after his bout with this same mindset that almost caused him to lose his family. They also talk about equality and Julian, as usual, stirs the pot a bit with his view on equality, which he does agree with by the way! So relax, turn up the volume, and take a little break from the everyday grind and enjoy this episode!

Toxic masculinity is not limited to man vs woman either. This also includes man vs man… An article in the American Psychological Association’s (APA) talks about how this behavior can bully other men into doing things that they are uncomfortable with doing or would, otherwise, not do normally due to intimidation.
