The season eight playoffs continue with the final match in the Altair IV Division. We love us some adaptations, so we start round one by quizzing our returning players Ilan, Gal, and Mike about book-to-screen adaptations that changed their titles. Then, things get wild in round two as we return to the world of very real, but thankfully forgotten movie sequels. The lightning round caps it all off, as one player heads to the season finale!

💜 Violet Evergarden is a weird mixture of Ghost in the Machine and Hallmark’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
🗣️ Turns out that typing "Dietfried Bougainvillea" is almost as fun as saying it.
📬 The novel Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was based on was unpublished until after the movie was made.
😱 The other adaptations of The Boy Cried Murder are The Window (1949) and Eyewitness (1970).
🦊 Russ Meyer’s Vixen scorebreak. Russ Meyer’s Vixen: I don’t care what Roger Ebert thinks, that is not appropriate behavior for a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. [7/10: Agreed.]
✈️ The number two movie on that list of sequels with improved box office is, no surprise, 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick.
🩸 The death of General Patton is not exactly heroic: a car accident and a blood clot.
👽 We don’t understand the whole “Niece” thing from Species: The Awakening, either.
🧛🏻♂️ In a rare instance of trading up leads for the sequel, Vampires: Los Muertos replaced James Woods with Jon Bon Jovi.
💰 The Joe Millionaire season 3 scorebreak. Joe Millionaire season 3: Look, I know we’re bringing back every moderately successful show from 20 years ago, but do we have to bring back every moderately successful show from 20 years ago? [2/10: Downgraded for alerting me to the existence of Joe Millionaire season 3.]
🚀 Zorii Bliss, played by Keri Russell in The Rise of Skywalker is distinct from Zarah Bliss. Definitely not supposed to be the same character at all.
💎 Emerald Cove was a teen soap that started off as a serial aired during “The Mickey Mouse Club,” that was supposed to be a throwback to Annette Funicello style teen beach movies. It also ran as a stand-alone series, reaching 70 episodes.
💪 Seems a little strange that the crew of The Fugitive never cleaned up the train/bus wreck from the movie, but they did, indeed, just leave it there.
🎃 While set in upstate New York, Sleepy Hollow filmed in Charlotte, right by Under the Dome.
🤔 Unforgettable was cancelled by CBS twice, moved to A&E, and somehow managed to eke out 61 episodes between 2011 and 2016.
🕹️ You can find video games Mike has developed under the username Birwards.
🐦 Gal is on Twitter

🦑 You can hear Ilan on Squideye and The Bitter Guy
