In this week's episode we have Robert Studer, Co-Owner of The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar Old Ellicott City in Old Ellicott City, Maryland! They are a dessert destination for everyone - yum! He was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area, grew up loving the outdoors, camping, and was an Eagle Scout. He went to college two hours away from Seattle and after college him and his wife Erin (Co-Owner of the business) decided to move to Maryland because she is from here. He worked in Target as an executive team lead for 7 years and got out of retail and went into logistics and transportation until this past December of 2021 when he received a notice that his role was being relocated abroad. That was the push he needed to start seriously considering leaving the corporate world and finally go off on his own. That summer they had visited Myrtle Beach and tried The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar for the first time and loved it! Robert shares about everything they went through in finding the right location, financing, and some of the most difficult parts with getting the store open. He takes us behind the scenes on how a typical day looks like for him and how he handles and juggles the new business, family life with Erin and 4 kids. He mentions how they were able grow their social media followers to over 10,000 before even opening their doors to the public. He shares expansion plans and the significance of being successful and being able to grow which in turns equals more time freedom for them. Robert mentions the four pillars that has helped him prosper!
