Yvonne Silver is Bestselling Author, Speaker and Coach, passionately teaching 6-figure visionary women entrepreneurs and leaders to flourish in business, especially those building social enterprise ventures that impact empowerment and gender equality. She operates Flourish! as well as Women & Wisdom Media, supporting women to master their confidence through speaking, mentorship programs, her book and radio show/podcast. As a previous VP and Director, her specialty is helping women expand their business sales, add top talent and make an impact while having fun! She teaches women to Flourish in business, by developing confident “asks”, and evoking a juicy vision - for a massive ripple effect.

She inspires others with her passion for social change to expand their possibilities, and received a Women of Inspiration 2018 Award for her work chairing Mentorship programs. As a Speaker, she shares confidence lessons combined with research, and brings growth concepts garnered from 8 start-up ventures (and her Board experiences).

Yvonne is a seasoned Speaker/Facilitator and Executive Coach, who brings a Consulting, Coaching and HR Leadership background, accompanied by extensive sales expertise, and a knack for seeing win-win opportunities.

Segment 1

Sam starts the episode by acknowledging Earth Day and encouraging viewers to take a moment to be mindful of our impact on nature. Today’s quote from a section of his book entitled, “True Evolution is Accepting Our Family Without Judgement.” For Sam, seeing his mother as a person created a shift in their relationship. Sam introduces his guest, Yvonne E.L. Silver. She operates Flourish! as well as Women & Wisdom Media, supporting women to master their confidence through speaking, mentorship programs, her book and radio show/podcast. Her mother was one of her earliest “unmentors,” after witnessing her mother’s experience being silenced and belittled Yvonne made a vow to herself that she would do everything in her power to not be silenced.

Segment 2

After leaving her corporate job and working independently, Yvonne worked with some male VPs and her experience was very jaded. She took time off to reflect and realized that assisting women was her priority. She began practicing meditation and Reiki. Sam and Yvonne exchange stories about their earliest experiences as entrepreneurs. Yvonne was often asked how she maintained success and remained confident, this inspired her to write her book, Women and Wisdom Media. In her book she provides advice to women on how they may change their behaviour and presence and receive the respect and attention that they deserve in professional settings.

Segment 3

For her book Yvonne interviewed many influential women. One of her interviews was with a woman named Melinda Wittstock, the founder of Wings of Inspired Business, who played a role in bringing her attention to conscious business practices. Yvonne looked at different business models and decided that she wanted to have a buy one, get one; buy one, donate one to a women’s shelter. She found that being conscious in business helped women become better at their jobs as well as managing their personal lives.

Segment 4

Sam and Yvonne talk about BANK, a personality assessment designed by a sales professional. They review what their results mean and how that translates into their careers and leadership styles.
