This week we're talking about the journey. If you want a career as an author, then writing a book and having it published isn't really the goal. It's building a sustainable practice that fits your life and your personality.
To discover that process requires a lot of self-reflection and experimentation, as well as a supportive group of peers around you.
That's why, this week, we're thrilled to have Karen Walker on the show.
Karen Sue Walker writes and publishes the Bridal Shop Cozy Mysteries and Haunted Tearoom Cozy Mysteries. She's also the author of the Arrow Investigations Action-Adventure Mysteries.
In the last few years, she went through the testing process and was diagnosed with autism. For her, this was an awakening. She has been able to better understand herself, and create systems in which she can be the most productive.
She has also taken it on herself to network with other writers and create a community of support. Writing in long, binge sprints, Karen went from writing one book every few years to writing four a year.
And she tells us all just how she did it.
