Apache Hudi came into existence when Chandar was working at Uber, designing its overall data architecture. His team ran into a lot of foundational gaps with the traditional data lake architectures of the time. Hudi was created as database abstraction, or data lake storage, with which you can then interact with the query from all your existing major league query engines.
