Ike Barinholtz and Seth Rogen in “The Studio,” now streaming on Apple TV+. Photo Credit: Apple TV+ If we were to give a one-line pitch for The Studio , we’d probably say it was The Player without the murder.” It’s a dark Hollywood comedy series that features scores of real-life figures making cameo appearances as themselves — the first episode features directors Martin Scorsese and Nicholas Stoller , along with Charlize Theron — and it’s not afraid to bite the hand that feeds it. Seth Rogen is a mega-hyphenate for the series, as one of its creators, writers, directors, producers, and also its star, and he spoke about the inspiration for the show. GREYÕS ANATOMY – ABC. (Disney/Anne Marie Fox) -ELLEN POMPEO Television networks usually have modest expectations for midseason replacement series. (After all, if they’d been confident about a show’s chances of success, it would have been more likely that they would have given it a full-season order.) So when ABC debuted a new medical drama 20 years ago, nobody at the network, in the cast, or on the crew could have imagined that, two decades later, Grey’s Anatomy would be in the midst of its 21st season on the air, having emerged as one of the greatest cultural phenomena of the new millennium. Though she’s reduced her workload in recent years, Ellen Pompeo remains one of the three original cast members still on the show ( Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. are the others). A few years back, Pompeo spoke about how she became most aware of the show’s impact not because of its ratings, but because of the heartfelt interactions she had with fans who told her how the show changed their lives, but because of the number of people who stopped and told her how the show has literally saved lives. (Click on the media bar below to hear Ellen Pompeo .) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Ellen_Pimpeo_Fans_Greys_.mp3 Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC, and episodes start streaming the following day on Hulu. THE VOICE -Pictured: Adam Levine — (Photo by: Greg Gayne/NBC) When it comes to reality competition shows, there’s a clear distinction between being a coach and being a judge, according to Adam Levine . Having spent 16 seasons as a coach on The Voice before returning this season, Levine believes coaching is far more demanding—but also profoundly rewarding—in ways judging simply can’t compare. Levine has often said that what sets T he Voice apart is how deeply involved its coaches are with the contestants. Unlike judges on other shows, who provide critiques from a distance, coaches on The Voice work side by side with their team members. They don’t just give feedback; they roll up their sleeves and help contestants craft performances, strengthen their vocal techniques, and build their confidence. They provide guidance not only for the competition but also for the artists’ future in the music industry. For Levine , this hands-on mentorship is what makes the role of a coach so distinct and challenging. It requires patience, dedication, and an ability to adapt to each artist’s unique strengths and needs. And while it’s hard work, Adam insists the payoff is unparalleled. The opportunity to watch contestants grow, break through their barriers, and discover their potential is an experience that he says is deeply fulfilling. Levine thinks coaching goes beyond critiquing performances; it’s about partnership, trust, and collaboration. Those meaningful bonds are what elevate coaching into something truly extraordinary. LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT – Pictured: Mariska Hargitay as Capt. Olivia Benson — (Photo by: Peter Kramer/NBC) Now that we’re already a quarter of the way through the 21st century, it’s pretty amazing to consider that Law & Order: SVU has been on the air continuously since the 20th century. (It’s the only drama with that distinction; on the comedy side, only The Simpsons can make the same claim.) With that kind of longevity, SVU has rightfully earned legendary status. And, as the only cast member who’s been on board since Day One, Mariska Hargitay has seen the show and its audience evolve over the years. Over the show’s 26-season run, she’s spoken about how the show’s fans have come to view it as much more than just entertainment. (Click on the media bar below to hear Mariska Hargitay .) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Mariska_HArgitay_Imoact_SVU_.mp3 Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC, and episodes start streaming the following day on Peacock.
