230 - Remedying the clinical skills shortage; Dr Diane Cannon, Xapimed and Mem Van Beak, NHS

What if the skilled nurse shortage affecting your facility could be remedied with tech? Dr Diane Cannon is the clinical education director of Xapimed. She works as a nurse educator, entrepreneur consultant and adjunct lecturer. Mem Van Beek is a clinical skills instructor for the NHS in the United Kingdom as well as being the Head of Nursing at one of the local hospitals. Xapimed is a system for managing nursing competency. It creates learning routes and targets both short-term and long-term professional goals. In this episode, Pete, Diane and Mem explore how technology may be utilised to better assess and address learning needs inside the NHS and in healthcare more broadly. This episode covers the management of the shortage surrounding skilled nurses and how one solution is digitising the process of developing the nursing skill set.
