About Fred Rutman:
I just finished writing The Summer I Died Twenty Times. It is sitting with my editor (because I need to work on the marketing, right?). The sequel, Dead Again, is about 80% written.
450,000 Americans and Canadians die from medical errors yearly. This is my story about how I managed to avoid being one of the 450,000. It wasn’t easy. I’ve had 11 heart procedures in 11 years. I’ve also been clinically dead dozens of times, along with dozens of concussions, PTSD, Post-concussion syndrome, and brain trauma. defective pacemakers, and botched surgeries. To put the icing on the cake, you can throw in multiple incidences of cognitive medical bias and misdiagnoses. They did their best to get me on the permanently dead list. Many attempts were too damn close. Thankfully, I’ve beaten them every time. I know more surgeries are in my future. The question is, will I beat them the next time?
Book summary (paragraph) – Personal Medical Drama: This is my story of how medical error ripped my life from me. It covers 2009-2018. The sequel (80% written) covers 2019-present. The book details my experiences, deaths, brain trauma, attempts at recovery, repeated medical errors, botched surgeries and cognitive biases, defective pacemakers, resilience, and overcoming adversity. My faith and belief/practice of Judaism was rocked to the core. I also discovered the most powerful prophylactic medicinal tool we have - Intermittent Fasting. This is me falling into the abyss, climbing out, falling in a few more times, and climbing out again and again. It goes beyond resilience. It is me not allowing the bad things that have happened to me to define my life. If we are supposed to make lemonade out of life’s lemons, then I am making the best lemonade ever produced.
For now, I moderate in the 335,000 member FB Group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/DelayDontDeny
I've probably answered 10,000 questions on Intermittent Fasting. I'm playing serious catch-up.
