Zilla with his work with RAY WEST and ALASKA, as well as putting in work with THE WRECKING CREW, which counts CURLY CASTRO, PREMROCK and SMALL PROFESSOR as members. Chong just wrapped up his 6-part INFINITY STONE series and is at the helm of his own record label, with recent physical releases from CHRIS CRACK, LORD JUCO, NAPOLEON DA LEGEND, RANSOM and NICHOLAS CRAVEN. This fall, Zilla and Chong come together for MIDNIGHT SONS, a conceptual album loosely inspired by the comic supergroup of the same name. We talk about the genesis of the project, how features from NATURE, BILLY WOODS, LORD JUCO, CURLY CASTRO, ALASKA, DENMARK VESSEY and PREMROCK came to be and why J-ZONE unknowingly ended up shaping the entire sound of the album. The duo also break down the significance of having MALIK B (RIP) on the record, who unfortunately passed this summer very soon after recording his verse, and how RALPHIIE REESE came through in the clutch to get the verse recorded.
