What is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States in men? It’s also 2x’s as deadly in African-American men? If you guessed prostate cancer , you are correct! Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer. About 1 man in 41 will die of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer can be a serious disease, but most men diagnosed with prostate cancer do not die from it. In fact, more than 3.1 million men in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. Why talk about this on our show? Because it’s a show for men by men talking about things from a man’s perspective, and this is something that only affects men physically, but also the people who love us are affected when we hear the C word. On this weekends show, John Fleming, Mike Fahrbach, and Dr. Jerry Rabalais, three survivors of prostate cancer, talk about their journey - not just physically, but emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and the effect it had on the intimacy with their wives (One of them said the intimacy improved!).
