Mysterious trials aren’t a distraction or interruption from God’s purposes. The trials are part of His purposes. He sovereignly brings things—happy things and mysterious things—into our lives that teach us to depend on Him. The mysterious trials keep us tethered to God in a way that maximizes our joy. They teach us that He’s the only steadfast anchor in our lives. He’s the only reliable source of strength and defense. He’s the only trustworthy source of joy and hope. Knowing God is mountain peak of pleasure and joy! And He is giving us more of Himself in mysterious trials. This is what we will see in Exodus 15:22-27. Take refuge in God’s nearness in every mysterious trial.
