In this episode of Castle Falkenstein: The Vampires of New Orleans, Archie (along with aid of Marie Laveau) is attempting to summon Papa Legba during the infamous St. John's Eve rites at Lake Pontcharian. This is the time of year when the veil is thinned out between the living and dead. Papa Legba controls the crossroads between the two worlds and if Archie passes his "test", he may be able to bring his dead fiance, Alice, back from the other side. The vampires also come out in full force during the festival and group must channel all of the courage and use the supernatural inventions they've created for their organization, The Thesopshist society.
