It appears that Canadian interest rates will be going up very soon. Rod Mahrt, a Senior Portfolio Manager at Wellington-Altus in Victoria says Ottawa lowed rates and spent Billions of dollars to protect the economy during the pandemic. However, to dampen inflation, lending rates must now rise.
