Manage episode 300764597 series 2974292
Your partner can’t be your therapist, but they can (& should) be a source of support and an advocate for you on your mental health journey.
Kayla Roge is a certified Life Coach and knows mental health first hand. In this episode, she graciously opens up and shares her experience with anxiety and depression, as well as what that looks like in her relationship with her fiancé.
As Kayla so eloquently states, the pandemic forced us to look at ourselves in ways we never had to before. As a result, struggles with mental health have been on the rise. And while relationships are the main focus of this conversation, it all starts with you. According to Kayla, “if you’re not aware of yourself, you can’t teach someone to be aware of you”.
Your mental health is so important, and so is your partners. Being able to vocalize when anxiety or depression creeps in, or even just when something feels off, will allow your partner the opportunity to be a source of support.
But remember - leave the therapy to the therapists! Tune in for advice on navigating mental health in relationships and what we can do to better support and receive support from our partner.
