In this latest episode of the Seatrade Maritime Podcast we are in conversation with Nick Clarke, CEO and co-founder of Greywing, a start-up that has made considerable waves in the business of crew change.

Seatrade Maritime News Editor Marcus Hand talks with Nick about the journey he and Greywing have taken from a pivot in business model at the start of the pandemic to building a post-Covid automated crew change solution.

The conversation covers Nick’s background in maritime security and the original business model of Greywing and how the pivot was made to crew change at the start of the pandemic in 2020 as shipowners and managers found they were no longer able to transfer their seafarers as international borders shut down.

The discussion covers how Greywing was able to make the move into crew change and getting its first clients on board.

Marcus and Nick talk about the importance of start-ups in knowing the needs of the industry they are in and identifying problem companies need a solution to.

The conversation moves onto discuss the importance of employing the right people for the job and paying for their skillsets, and then onto where the future lies for Greywing.
