When the jailer was awakened by the earth quake in the middle of the night he thought his two notorious prisoners, Paul and Silas had escaped. Seeing his only option was to kill himself the jailer drew his sword. Then he heard "we are all still here under your charge".

At that shocking turn of events the jailer realized he was the one who was imprisoned. "What must I do to be saved, he asked?"

The marvelous benefits of truly being saved and knowing you are being watched over and cared for by God, and having the courage to act that faith out under miserable and impossible situations provoked this unbeliever to surrender his fear to follow Jesus.
