Dr. Sean Pastuch, DC, grew up around the fitness, health, and wellness industry.

And when he graduated Chiro school, he ended up opening a clinic and a CrossFit gym, he didn’t want to be that Chiro who tells you, “You need to this exercise and be on “X” program.”

Then, pat you on the back and say see you next week.

He works with people and athletes, who don’t want to deal with pain and injury anymore. And at the same time, don’t want to stop their training or don’t want to keep modifying their workouts every time there’s a workout that has overhead movements.

In this show, Sean and I talk about the fitness industry as a whole, why trainers and coaches should be working to bridge the gap between training and healthcare, and the advice he’d give both his younger self, and young trainers and coaches listening to this show.

Sean has a really unique viewpoint on coaching and how we can improve our industry, so I hope you enjoy the show.

We need an entirely new business model that is completely departed from anything that looks, feels or smells like the gym they used to own. – Dr. Sean Pastuch

This Week on the Physical Preparation Podcast:

  • How a chiropractor ended up owning and operating a CrossFit gym.
  • Why Sean believes that a lack of self-awareness makes the fitness industry less valuable.
  • How trainers and coaches can bridge the gap between training/coaching and healthcare.
  • The story behind building his gyms, and ultimately, letting them go to pursue other options.
  • Why Sean opened both Active Life RX and Active Life Professional.
  • The advice he would give a young, up and coming coach or trainer to help them be more successful

Build Savage, Athletic Beasts with Exerfly!

This week’s episode of the Physical Preparation Podcast is brought to you by Exerfly.

Flywheel training is a method of strength training where your athletes generate resistance by using the inertia of a flywheel instead of traditional gravity-based resistance training

By accelerating and then decelerating a disk, your athletes generate resistance in both the concentric and eccentric portions of the lift, WITHOUT the need for ridiculously heavy weights.

Standard free weight training is great for the early preparatory phases, but as athletes develop there’s more to it than just getting stronger at all costs.

At some point, you need to prepare them for the massive eccentric forces they’ll experience on the field, court or pitch – and with Exerfly’s motorized technology, you can increase the eccentric overload of the lift anywhere from 1-80%!

Exerfly is used by numerous teams in the NFL, NBA, over 50% of the English Premiere League, and numerous Olympic development programs.

Now as a small business owner you may immediately assume that an Exerfly is out of your budget, because we all know that every penny counts.

But Exerfly has you covered here as well – they offer 36-month, interest free-financing, so you can get started ASAP with your training and pay as you go.

And when you factor in a 30-day money back guarantee, 2- year warranty AND free shipping, the Exerfly really is a solid investment.
