Adam Gray of www.kubastudios.co.uk is a UK-based studio pet photographer who looks to be a total sponge when it comes to learning the business side of running a photography studio.

I've been following Adam's progress; it's the perfect time to feature him on the podcast. With a background in the armed services, he's been in business for 12 months and only just left full-time employment.

I've seen him in the Expo training with Kim Marie earlier this year and, more recently, the book project course with Katie Kolenberg.

He's been working hard on his SEO and ranks on page one for several search terms, has over 30 — 5 star reviews on Google, and has worked with multiple photography business coaches already.

Everything points to this photographer being a man on a mission to succeed.

He recently had a £6000 sale, hit £20K for one month and £12K the next!

He's kicked off a photography book project and co-hosts a group of over 240 photographers in the UK. The future looks very bright when I read his reviews and see the quality of his photography.

Here's some more of what we covered in the interview:

  • Why do you need to hire a photography business coach
  • How Adam started his career in photography
  • How Adam transitioned into a full-time pet photographer
  • Photography client demographics in Kent
  • How Adam attracts studio photography clients in Kent

  • How to transition from the design consultation to the sales process
  • Offering alternatives to suit the client's budget
  • How Adam solicits reviews from clients
  • The importance of strengthening alliances with businesses to survive in this economy
  • Always rely on multiple income streams
  • Where Adam sees his pet photography business in 12 months
  • What percentage of leads is Adam expecting to get from Facebook Ads

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs

Each week I check for any new iTunes or Google reviews, and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!

Secondly, iTunes and Google are the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts, and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and, ultimately a better show.

If you have left a review in the past, thank you! If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes or https://photobizx.com/google, and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show, and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.

Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your keywords or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

Another great way to get a backlink to your site is to send a video testimonial. It doesn't need to be fancy, and your phone will be perfect. Click record and tell me how PhotoBizX has made a difference to you and your photography business.

Thank you!

Thanks again for listening, and thanks to Adam for sharing his thoughts, ideas and experiences for growing a successful studio pet photography business by delivering great images and simply allowing clients to purchase what they want, without limits.

People just want to get what they want to get. I don't have limits on what they can spend. There's no packages or such. If they want to get 18 pieces of wall art, you let them get 18 pieces of wall art. At the end of the day we need to tell the price. They're going to say No or Yes. – Adam Gray
