The last two verses of Matthew 7 reveal quite a bit about Jesus and the effect He had on those who heard him. Matthew 7:28-29 says, "When Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teachings, for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes."
