This was a treat with a capital T. Trish interviews Italian-American chef Lidia Bastianich. She's an Emmy award winning television host, author and restauranteur who moved to New York at the age of 12. She and her family had to escape their life in Istria, where she left her Grandma Rosa and lived in a refugee camp for 2 years. She tells wonderful, idyllic stories of Grandma Rosa and then, living in Astoria, New York, she talks about getting a job as a teenager and working at Walken's Bakery (Christopher Walken's father's bakery). She talks about meeting her husband, finally getting to see Grandma Rosa again after 10 years, opening a restaurant, and how her success took off when they opened a restaurant in Manhattan. Those stories are followed with stories of meeting Julia Child and what she's cooking for dinner tonight. Salud to Lidia!
